Besides being a bit dusty, part of one of the fingers was missing and the color of the face and hands were mismatched. How old is the statue, you ask? That is currently unknown, but we can confidently assume that it was created sometime after Jesus was born.
We decided to go on a restoration mission to restore the statue of Jesus to its rightful glory, and we found J&D Ceramics in Lindenhurst, New York, who graciously accepted this task. It took a couple of hours, but this week we drove down to Long Island with Jesus as our co-driver and dropped Him off for some repairs.
While we'll miss Jesus in the meantime, we can rest assured that He is always with us until the end of time (plus, go to Mass and you can partake in the Body and Blood, which is even better. Check our Mass schedules and other information either in the "Calendar" tab in the navigation bar above, or click here).
You can help us restore this statue too! Consider donating to this project to help us offset the cost of materials and labor. We'll also be creating a donation board in the future with a list of the names of the generous people who have made this project possible.
